Santa is a difficult subject to draw twenty times, because the costume does most of the work and the poses run out fast. These are built around what he is doing rather than what he wears: stuck halfway down a chimney (4), unrolling a list that reaches the floor (5), at a workbench with a half-built toy (9), sitting with his boots up (11), laughing with his head back (19).
Ways to use these
- Let them add the presents. The sack design (3) and the sleigh (6) both leave open space around the load. Children usually want to draw in what they hope is inside.
- The chimney one is the crowd pleaser. Design 4 shows only Santa top half above the chimney. Something about the half-stuck pose gets a laugh from most children under eight.
- Good for letter writing. Print the list design (5) alongside a blank sheet and the colouring turns into an excuse to write the letter.

Is the beard hard to color?
No, and that is on purpose. The beard is drawn as a few large enclosed shapes rather than individual strands, so a crayon fills it in a couple of strokes.
Is there a design without a full figure?
Three: the face portrait (2), the boots and belt still life (12) and the hat on its own (16). These suit younger children who find a whole figure daunting.
Can I use these on a shop or church noticeboard?
Yes. Printing and displaying is covered by the licence for any non-commercial setting. The only restriction is reselling the files themselves.
