A Christmas tree is a triangle, which is exactly the problem: twenty triangles is not a set. These vary the decoration, the setting and the shape. Two are almost bare (2, 18). One is built entirely from star shapes (14). One is seen through a window frame (8), one has a cat sitting under it looking up (16), and one is a narrow modern tree with evenly spaced ornaments (9).
Ways to use these
- Start with the empty one. Design 2 is an undecorated fir with just branch tiers and a trunk. Children decorate it themselves rather than colouring in someone else decisions, which usually holds attention longer.
- Match your real tree. Between the potted (4), snow covered (5), tall thin (9) and heavily trimmed (1) versions, most households can find the one that looks like theirs.
- Bauble practice. The baubles are the small enclosed shapes on these pages. Colouring each one a different colour is a low stakes way to practise staying inside a line.

Is there a plain tree with no decorations?
Yes, two. Design 2 is a bare fir outline and design 18 is a single tree in an open snowy field. Both are effectively blank canvases.
Are these real fir shapes or stylised?
Stylised, with clear branch tiers rather than individual needles. Needle detail would be unusable at crayon scale and would print as a grey mass.
Which is best for a very young child?
Design 2 or 3. Large open areas, thick outlines, and no small ornaments to work around.
