Twenty reindeer, grazing, harnessed to a sleigh, a calf beside its mother. The antlers give each design a distinct silhouette and are the most fun part to color.
The antlers carry these pages. Every design has a different branch pattern, and the close-up (13) is nothing but a pair of antlers with baubles hanging from them. Beyond that the set covers what reindeer actually do, grazing with the head lowered (8), leaping (4), resting with legs folded (11), as well as the harnessed pair you would expect (6).
Ways to use these
- Antlers first. Colouring the antlers before the body gives the page a shape early on, which helps children who lose interest halfway through.
- Pair it with the sleigh page. Design 6 shows two reindeer in a pulling harness. It lines up with the sleigh design in the main Christmas set if you want a two page scene.
- Good for practising symmetry. The face portrait (2) is symmetrical down the middle. Matching the two sides is a genuinely useful exercise disguised as colouring.
Every design downloads as a US Letter PDF that also scales cleanly to A4 with “Fit to printable area”. Print in grayscale, there is no color in the files. Frequently asked questions
Is Rudolph in this set?
No. These are generic reindeer with no named character, no red nose and no film association. Every design is original artwork.
Are the antlers accurate?
Stylised. Real reindeer antlers are far more complex and would not survive being printed at crayon scale, so these are simplified to five or six clear branches.
Is there a design without antlers?
Design 5, the calf, has only small buds. Female reindeer and young calves are the realistic version of an antler free design.
