Fall is the best coloring season there is, because the palette is doing half the work before anyone picks up a crayon. A single maple leaf with its veins drawn in, a rake beside a pile, a squirrel with a nut in both paws, a fox walking through leaves, an owl on a bare branch.
Ways to use these
- Collect first, then color. Come back from a walk with real leaves and hold them against the printed shapes. The maple (1) and the oak (4) are the two that will match.
- Three crayons only. Red, orange and yellow. The restriction is what makes a fall page look like fall instead of like a rainbow.
- Window display. The single leaf and the acorn cut out cleanly and hold up taped to glass, where light comes through the crayon wax.
Every design downloads as a US Letter PDF that also scales cleanly to A4 with “Fit to printable area”. Print in grayscale, there is no color in the files. Frequently asked questions
Which leaves are drawn?
Maple (1) and oak (4) are drawn accurately enough to identify. The leaves in the pile, on the tree and around the fox are generic broadleaf shapes chosen for how well they fill a page.
Does this overlap with the Halloween set?
Only on pumpkins, and even there the difference is real. These are whole pumpkins on a porch step (3) and in a wheelbarrow (12). The Halloween ones are carved.
Is there anything for Thanksgiving?
A cornucopia spilling fruit and vegetables (17), a basket of apples (7) and two corn stalks (11) are as close as the set gets. Nothing here is tied to a specific holiday date.
